Grief & Joy are Sisters Mini-Class

Reclaim the Beauty and Healing Potential of Grieving & Rejoicing Well….

The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.
Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter’s oven?
— Kahlil Gibran

Every year HeartScapes offers a special pair of classes for transforming our lives within the powerful human experiences of grief and joy:

This mini-class offers you a glimpse of these classes, and shares key practices from each.

Why This Matters:

Grief and joy are such fundamental human experiences; and yet our culture struggles so much with both of them.

Grief makes our culture deeply uncomfortable, and we are rarely taught how to make room inside and among us for this transformative experience to move within and through us.

Joy is put on a pedestal, and mistakenly linked to external circumstances of fortune, luck and acquisition. In doing so, Joy feels inaccessible and fleeting, rather than part of the natural landscape of our True Self.

And the two are viewed as in opposition to each other, opposite sides of the human experience, never the twain shall meet.

BUT NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH

Join HeartScapes for this mini-class in December to sample Grieving Well and Embodied Joy.

Your Investment: $25 for this mini class. And if you decide to join us for the deep journey of these classes, you will:

  • Receive the cost of this mini-class taken off of your registration, and:

  • And if you register for both classes, you’ll receive a discount on both! See the class registration pages linked above for details.

Part workshop, part ritual, and entirely heartful, these classes create powerful containers within which to explore our own experiences of grief and joy

Blair Graves

Blair brings her unique skills and extensive training as an End of Life Doula. She believes that everyone needs a doula for many of life’s experiences, not only deaths and births. To that end, she is developing doula services for hospital stays, divorces, and other big challenges that life can present.

Reiki has equipped Blair with tools that she uses every day to navigate life more grounded and with more purpose. She weaves it through many of her daily activities, and it brings her joy to share this beautiful practice with others.

Michaela Daystar

Drawn to methods that uncover our innate wisdom and creative nature, I design experiences that help individuals and groups connect more deeply with aspects of their identity and purpose, and that transform the barriers to living into that purpose.  I have particular interest in supporting those who are most directly impacted by the racism, patriarchy, heteronormativity and other forms of oppression at play in our lives.  I hold an MA in Social Justice Leadership from Saint Mary’s College of California, and study Reiki as a Shinpiden graduate with the International House of Reiki.
