We are needed, that is all we can know. And though we meet resistance, we more so will meet great souls who will hail us, love us and guide us, and we will know them when they appear.

Souls on Deck: In-Person Retreat

Each of us has contribution a to make.  YOU have something precious and necessary to contribute to your life, your community and the world.  Every step you take towards remembering the wholeness of your True Self strengthens it.

The journey home to ourselves, and to our precious contribution, can feel daunting, exhausting and lonely.  It requires us to look into the shadowy aspects of ourselves, to heal the places that feel broken, and provision our hearts for the long road.

And it also feels exhilarating, liberating and joyful, to be welcomed back to a home that remembers us, deep within all along.

There is a space inside of you that remembers how to remain balanced, grounded and whole. A space that is rooted into the fertile ground of your True Self, reaching out spaciously from this space in service to the common good, and deeply connected to the web of Life that sustains all of us.

I call this space our HeartScape, the often invisible aspects of Self that make us who we are. Tending the landscape of our hearts is sacred work. It requires integration between the many parts of us, because our hearts cannot thrive in isolation.

In her inspirational and courageous essay We Were Made for These Times, Clairssa Pinkola Estes lays out in vivid prose a vision for what it looks and feels like to root into ourselves and our purpose, and to then shine the beacon of our True Selves into the difficulties and challenges of the world to call to us our courageous community. During our retreat time, this essay will form the metaphoric and inspirational container to guide us into our HeartScape, and home to each other.

Regarding awakened souls, there have never been more able crafts in the waters than there are right now across the world. And they are fully provisioned and able to signal one another as never before in the history of humankind.
— Clarissa Pinkola Estes

The Home That Holds The Magic:

We’ll stay in a beautiful Marin County cabin with plenty of privacy and stunning views of Tomales Bay. This home is built on the ancestral lands of the Coast Miwok people. As holders of sacred space on land that is not our own, we will create space to acknowledge, learn about, and contribute to the people of this land. A portion of retreat fees will be donated to the vibrant, living indigenous communities of the San Francisco Bay Area through the Sogorea Te’ Land Trust, an urban Indigenous women-led land trust based in the San Francisco Bay Area that facilitates the return of Indigenous land to Indigenous people..

The space

The cabin is a warm and loving space that will make you feel right at home the moment you walk in. As a space that regularly hosts soul-nourishing retreats, this home is well-tuned to hold the magic we are getting up to.

The living room, equipped with a cozy gas fireplace, looks out directly over gorgeous Tomales Bay, where we can cast our stories and visions of journeys we are on.

We will prepare dinners communally, and so the kitchen is equipped with plenty of dishes, pots, pans and utensils. And the wrap-around deck provides space for relaxation, ceremony, and alternative sleeping options (see below for all available accommodations) There is no doubt that you will love your stay at the cabin and all of its surrounding beauty.
