The training exceeded any expectations I had. Michaela and Joe created a very safe, loving space where I felt instantly at home and open to sharing my heart.

At HeartScapes Reiki Academy we offer you a comprehensive Reiki education that is experiential, intuitive, and embodiment-based, as well as rooted in the Japanese origins of this practice.

Stepping Into Your Reiki Journey…

Do you…

  • Feel bombarded and destabilized by the intense disruptions that our modern life continues to toss at us?

  • Experience fears, stresses and anxieties that sometimes threaten to overwhelm you, and that can show up as physical illness or pain?

  • Seek the strength and nurturing of a spiritual or meditative practice that is both spiritually potent AND rooted in the practicality of day-to-day life?

  • Crave a brave community in which to ask hard questions and show up as your full self?

  • Sense that although your source of healing is within you, it is often hard to access?

  • Wish you could positively impact the healing of those around you?

Are you longing to experience

Rootedness, Expansion, & Compassionate Connection to Each Other & the Web of Life?

The system of Reiki can get you there…

As you learn to practice the system of Reiki from the perspectives of its Japanese origins, you will:

  • Remember and Experience your own innate healing capacity, while you develop effective, simple and accessible practices to move fear and anger out of your body, so that you can feel stable in the midst of disruption and take control of your well-being.

  • Easefully build a healing practice that is firm enough to support you over time, and flexible enough to meet you exactly where you are in your capacity on any given day.

  • Build your reliable, powerful inner compass – a guidance system finely calibrated to your specific strengths, experiences, and the wisdom of your soul, so that you will orient yourself, skillfully navigate this transition (and the next!), and stop feeling lost inside of life’s challenges. Along the way, you will learn and form a relationship with the cultural origins of this practice, holding them with respect and clarity.

  • Be held in an established Reiki Community of Practice who are invested in personal and collective transformation.  The HeartScapes Community of Practice is a trauma-informed space that makes room for the full range of human experience.  We are a diverse community with a social justice orientation, understanding that our healing work is connected to a wide web of people working towards healing and justice in the world.  We will share support, wisdom and accountability, so that you experience connection and understanding.

  • Become certified as a Reiki Practitioner, and learn how to expand your Reiki practice for self-healing into one that creates healing spaces for others.  We are each our own healer, with the capacity to ignite a healing response in others through our practice.  You will gain the experience and certification to share Reiki with others both informally and (at the Reiki II level) professionally.

There are two learning tracks on which to journey:

Stand-Alone Classes:

In all of our class offerings, we strive to provide a structure that is both firm and flexible: A strong container that supports you well in building your relationship with the system of Reiki, along with enough flexibility for the work to be accessible and meet you where you are. A Sweet Beginning:

Looking for a dynamic and accessible place to begin or explore the connections between Reiki and your daily life? A great place to start is our monthly free community class, A Sweet Taste of HeartScapes, offering a wide range of topics in a delicious, bite-sized format. You can attend live on-line, or via the class recording. Register for an up-coming class here.

Reiki Levels I, II & III Trainings:

Our signature Reiki curriculum is embodiment-based, experiential, and deeply rooted in the Japanese origins of Reiki. Out of reverence for the subtlety and depth of the system of Reiki, and respect for your commitment to developing this practice in your life, we have moved away from the weekend class model, and offer our Reiki classes in the more spacious format of an 8-week class (Reiki I & II) or 12-week class (Reiki III).

Schedule: Stand-alone classes are scheduled on-demand for individuals or groups. To learn more or schedule an on-demand class, schedule a call with me here.

Special Topics:

Each quarter we offer several classes that go in-depth on topics within or connected to the system of Reiki. Some are designed for Reiki practitioners to hone your craft, such as our training on Cultivating a Trauma-Informed Reiki Practice, and some are open to anyone who resonates with the topic. Most special topics classes are half-day or full-day formats, with the occasional long form. Find up-coming special topics classes here.

9-Month Program:

Seeking a deeper dive into your relationship with Reiki?

For those who wish to experience all three levels of Reiki, we’ve designed a powerful structure for your comprehensive Reiki education, which is firm and flexible, spacious and supportive. Our 9-month program offers you all three Reiki levels, supported through one-on-one sessions, special topics classes, and community retreats to deepen your learning.  Learn more here.

What You’ll Experience Working With Us

Our approach to teaching Reiki is deeply experiential, intuitiveembodiment-based, and rooted in the Japanese origins of this practice.   The history of Reiki is steeped in mystery, as it's true meaning and purpose were cloaked at its creation, and then cloaked again during its fascinating and unlikely pathway to the West.  We honor and explore this twice-cloaked history, believing that the deep potential of this healing art can only be realized when its true purpose is known and honored.  Our teaching draws heavily on the deep roots of Reiki in Japanese Buddhism, Shintoism, and martial arts systems, and provide a solid grounding and certification for practicing the system of Reiki for self and others.
