NOTE: HeartScapes offers a seasonal cycle, guiding a deep-dive into one specific practice from Reiki’s origins, aligned with each Solstice and Equinox. These can be taken as stand-alone classes or as a full package (see below)
We will open the portal to Summer with the mantra of Fudo Myo-o, The Immovable One, the unshakable mind and bright spirit of the Buddha as one who burns away our toxins and distractions, laying bare the Great Bright Light of our True Self.
As the first of the Five Wisdom Buddhas in the esoteric Japanese Buddhist tradition, Fudo Myoo is here to love us fiercely by purifying our inner selves with cleansing fire, cutting away all that is in the way of us remembering our wholeness and harmony, and bringing us into balance with the five elements of the world. By reciting his mantra, and contemplating his symbols, we invite this healer into our lives.
Mantra is an essential element of the system of Reiki, and is deeply embedded in the Japanese Buddhist and Shinto roots of the system. Imagine integrating the energy of your voice with vibrant visualizations of the mind and gestures of the body, to call forward your full capacity to experience Life and healing as we were designed to do. This is the magic that chanting mantra, consistently over time, offers us.
Format:
Three Sunday classes, plus three optional Wednesday practice sessions.
Each 2-hour Sunday class session will include deep and meditative engagement with Fudo Myo-o, supported through brief teachings and discussion about this Buddha and his mantra in the context of Japanese Buddhism. The Wednesday practice sessions will focus on chanting practice.
When & How:
Sundays June 7, 14, & 21: 10am - 12pm Pacific Time / 1 -3pm Eastern Time
Wednesdays (optional) 10, 17 & 24: 5 - 6pm
Once registered, you are welcome to drop in to as many of these sessions as you like. We’ll gather over Zoom, link provided upon registration. Recordings will be made available.
Investment:
Each of the four seasonal Reiki’s Origins classes are offered for $115.
Package Price: Register for all 4 for $390, and experience a full year exploring beautiful Japanese Buddhist practices, each taught from the perspective of the system of Reiki.
