A Restorative Retreat for Mothering Ourselves

Before we turn toward honoring our own mothers and motherhood, let’s pause to tend, nourish and restore our internal connection to Mothering in all its forms

On the Saturday before Mother’s Day, join us for a restorative day in the forest of the Sierra Nevada Foothills to rest and explore the many ways we mother: our children, our communities, our creative work, and ourselves.

Find resilience through rest and connection.

Our relationships to the experience of mothering can be multi-layered. Come explore your connection to the experience and archetype of Mother, while being deeply tended to through:

  • Our Body:  Restorative yoga, optional hot tub soaks, 2 nourishing meals & snacks

  • Our Mind & Intuition: SoulCollage(R), an intuitive collage practice for self-knowledge and healing

  • Our Spirits: Sound bath with optional Reiki energy practice, story-sharing in trusted community*

  • Our Relationship to the Land:  Morning Altars(R) (nature-based art expression), time spent in nature in the arms of the forest.

*Space is limited to six - ten attendees. Nourishing organic lunch & dinner provided

Root into Nature as the ultimate mother with practitioners of the healing arts who will guide you through rest toward resilience.

The Location:

Our day of restoration will take place on private land in the beauty of the Sierra foothills and the Yuba River. We’ll be just 2 miles from downtown Nevada City and 10 minutes from Grass Valley, with access to the Yuba River as close as 20 mins away.

The space

Come and relax! We have a fire pit, large deck to chill on, and an outdoor (and indoor) shower, a claw foot bath tub for those who choose to stay overnight (see below for details). Surrounded by Ferns, Madrones, Incense Cedars, and Doug Firs, you will never know you are only two miles from town. We have hours of hiking right outside the yurt. Our property connects to the Woodpecker Preserve and the Gracie Trail if you hike up the mountain.

While the retreat is a single day, you may wish to make a weekend of it! There is another yurt on the property that can be rented separately for $150 (first come first serve). And the region has many other AirBnB options.
