Reiki Foundations is an intuitive, embodied journey into the fundamental practices of the system of Reiki, and the Japanese Shinto cosmology that informs them.  It is designed to help you bring this simple, elegant and profound spiritual practice into the challenges and joys of your daily life.  Using meditation and expressive arts, this class will give you what you need to build a vibrant Reiki self-practice, whether you are completely new to Reiki or are already experienced with it. 

Shinto cosmology reminds us of our inherent divine nature as part of all Life:   Deeply rooted into the life-giving Earth; reaching wide into the vastness of the Universe beyond and inside; and with a heart connected to all of Life.  Through the system of Reiki, as practiced from these origins, we embody being Rooted, Reaching and Connected, thereby remembering the wholeness of our True Self, a healed state.  We invite you to come play with us on this path.

Reiki Foundations is for you if you:

• Are seeking a spiritual self-care practice that engages your body, heart, mind and spirit

• Wish to experience and learn Reiki, but do not wish to be certified as a Reiki practitioner at this time

• Are curious about the Japanese origins, form and spirituality of the system of Reiki

• Find direct, creative experience to be a wonderful way to learn

In this class you will:

• Learn the breathing meditation practices that form the foundation of the system of Reiki

• Develop a relationship with the Reiki Precepts and begin experiencing how to live them in your daily life

• Learn the hands-on healing techniques for self-practice

• Track and integrate your class experience through expressive arts practice

• Receive a traditional Japanese Reiju (spiritual blessing)

• Be invited to join the HeartScapes Reiki Community of Practice to support your practice
